Child Abuse Prevention

The following is the lead-in to the first topic in a series of streaming Flash audio files. The topic is child sexual abuse and the following segments have been designed and developed to introduce children ages 4-10 to concepts used in later segments. Dr. Smith believes strongly in education as a primary pathway to prevention. The aim is to protect children before any harm is done by making them aware of potential harm.

Have a discussion with your child by listening to the following segments on child abuse with him or her. Let the audio segment be the vehicle for you to begin a conversation with your child about preventing child sexual abuse.

Expect to see upcoming segments on this page that children can listen to describing aspects of child sexual abuse. The earlier your child is educated about early recognition of abuse the better able he or she will be to report it.
